Saharan Spiced Chicken Skewers
Saharan Spiced Chicken Skewers are a flavorful and aromatic dish inspired by the Western Saharan cuisine. These skewers are perfect for a summer barbecue or a special dinner with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
