Sajji Gosht (spicy Lamb Sajji)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb, cut into large pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt to make the marinade.
  2. Marinate the lamb pieces with the prepared marinade and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  3. Heat oil in a large pot and add the marinated lamb along with the green chilies. Cook on low heat for 2 hours or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the lamb is cooked, transfer it to a serving platter and garnish with lemon slices.
  5. Serve hot with naan or rice.
