Sajji Gosht (spicy Lamb Sajji)
Sajji Gosht is a traditional Balochi dish that features tender and flavorful lamb marinated in a blend of aromatic spices. This spicy lamb sajji is a popular dish in Balochi cuisine, known for its rich flavors and succulent meat.
Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into large pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 4 tablespoons red chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 4-5 green chilies, slit
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt to make the marinade.
- Marinate the lamb pieces with the prepared marinade and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- Heat oil in a large pot and add the marinated lamb along with the green chilies. Cook on low heat for 2 hours or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Once the lamb is cooked, transfer it to a serving platter and garnish with lemon slices.
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
