Sakha Momos (yakutian Dumplings)
Sakha Momos, also known as Yakutian Dumplings, are a traditional dish from the Sakha Republic in Russia. These delicious dumplings are typically filled with a savory meat mixture and are a popular comfort food in the region.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- Water for sealing the dumplings
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, and cilantro until well combined.
- Place a small amount of the meat mixture onto a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumpling.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
