Sakha Suvuun (arctic Salmon Surprise)
Sakha Suvuun, also known as Arctic Salmon Surprise, is a traditional dish from Sakha Cuisine that features the rich flavors of wild-caught salmon and local ingredients.
Ingredients
- 4 wild-caught salmon fillets
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sear the salmon fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion, chopped tomatoes, and sliced bell pepper until softened.
- Stir in the soy sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Return the salmon fillets to the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
- Serve the Sakha Suvuun hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
