Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and lamb cubes to the pot. Cook until the lamb is browned on all sides.
  3. Stir in the ground cumin, ground coriander, ground turmeric, and chili powder. Cook for 2 minutes to toast the spices.
  4. Pour in the plain yogurt and stir to combine with the lamb and spices. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Cover the pot and simmer the korma for 45-50 minutes, or until the lamb is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
