Salade Poulpe (octopus Salad)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg octopus, cleaned and tenderized
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the octopus in a large pot of boiling water and cook for 1 hour or until tender. Drain and let it cool.
  2. Cut the octopus into bite-sized pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the tomatoes, onion, cucumber, green chili, coriander, and mint to the bowl with the octopus.
  4. Drizzle the lemon juice over the salad and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
  5. Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
