Sali Boti (साली बोटी)
साली बोटी (Sali Boti) is a classic Parsi dish that combines tender pieces of mutton with a tangy and spicy tomato-based gravy, topped with crispy potato sticks. This dish is bursting with flavors and is a perfect accompaniment to steamed rice or crusty bread.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup crispy potato sticks (sali)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Next, add the mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Whisk the yogurt and garam masala together, then add it to the mutton. Cook until the mutton is tender.
- Once the mutton is cooked, garnish with crispy potato sticks (sali) and serve hot.
