Salmon Ceviche (Qun'qun)
Qun'qun, or Salmon Ceviche, is a traditional dish from Yup'ik Cuisine that showcases the fresh flavors of wild Alaskan salmon.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh wild Alaskan salmon, skinless, boneless
- 1 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the salmon into small cubes and place in a glass or ceramic bowl.
- Pour the lime juice over the salmon, making sure it is fully covered. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Add the red onion, jalapeno, and cilantro to the bowl with the salmon. Season with salt and pepper, and gently toss to combine.
- Refrigerate the ceviche for at least 30 minutes before serving.
