Sambal Tempeh Explosion

Ingredients

  • 1 block of tempeh, cut into cubes
  • 4 tablespoons sambal oelek
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red chili, sliced
  • 1 green chili, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the tempeh cubes and fry until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, mix the sambal oelek, soy sauce, coconut sugar, tamarind paste, and water.
  5. Pour the sambal mixture into the pan with the tempeh and stir well to coat the tempeh.
  6. Add the sliced red and green chilies and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
