Sambal Terasi Pedas (spicy Shrimp Paste Dip)

Ingredients

  • 5 red chili peppers
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Using a mortar and pestle, grind the red chili peppers, shallots, and garlic into a smooth paste.
  2. Add the shrimp paste and continue to grind until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the lime juice and salt.
  4. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
