Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lamb, cut into chunks
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the lamb chunks and brown them on all sides.
  3. Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, sauté the onions and garlic until they are soft and translucent.
  5. Add the paprika, cumin, coriander, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  6. Pour in the red wine and beef broth, then return the lamb to the pot.
  7. Simmer the lamb for 1 hour, or until it is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  8. Season with salt to taste.
  9. Serve the Sarajevski Janjetina hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes.
