Satay De Porc Balinais (balinese Pork Satay)
Satay de Porc Balinais, also known as Balinese Pork Satay, is a popular dish in Odesite cuisine, known for its rich flavors and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 1 kg pork shoulder, cut into cubes
- 5 shallots, peeled
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 lemongrass stalks, white part only, chopped
- 2 red chilies, seeded and chopped
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a food processor, blend shallots, garlic, lemongrass, red chilies, turmeric, coriander, cumin, brown sugar, soy sauce, and vegetable oil to make a marinade.
- Marinate the pork cubes in the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated pork onto the soaked skewers.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and grill the pork skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- Serve the Balinese Pork Satay hot with steamed rice and a side of sambal for an authentic Odesite experience.
