Satay Sensation
Satay Sensation is a popular Malay dish consisting of marinated and skewered meat, grilled to perfection and served with a flavorful peanut sauce. This recipe is a crowd-pleaser and perfect for a casual gathering or a special dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken or beef, cut into thin strips
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- Salt to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine coconut milk, soy sauce, brown sugar, turmeric, cumin, coriander, chili powder, and salt. Add the chicken or beef strips and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated meat onto the soaked skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- While the meat is grilling, prepare the peanut sauce by combining peanut butter, water, and lime juice in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until well combined and heated through.
- Serve the satay skewers with the warm peanut sauce.
