Sate Ayam Bakar (grilled Chicken Skewers)

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, garlic, shallot, coriander, cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and vegetable oil to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the chicken skewers for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
