Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken thighs, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the chopped onion, minced garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric, soy sauce, brown sugar, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto skewers.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the chicken skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. Serve the Sate Ayam with peanut sauce and steamed rice.
