Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken thighs, cut into cubes
- 20 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
- 4 shallots, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 red chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the shallots, garlic, red chilies, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and salt. Blend into a smooth paste.
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken cubes with the spice paste for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Heat a grill or a pan over medium heat. Grill or pan-fry the chicken skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Sate Ayam Pedas Makassar hot with steamed rice and spicy peanut sauce.
