Sate Daging Bumbu, or Spiced Beef Skewers, is a popular dish in East Timor cuisine. The beef is marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and then grilled to perfection, resulting in a delicious and aromatic meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the onion, garlic, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chili powder, soy sauce, vegetable oil, and salt.
- Add the beef cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated beef onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Serve the Sate Daging Bumbu hot with steamed rice and your favorite dipping sauce.
