Sate Manado (fragrant And Spicy Chicken Skewers)

Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 5 shallots, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the shallots, garlic, red chilies, ground coriander, ground turmeric, ground cumin, kecap manis, vegetable oil, and salt to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Serve the Sate Manado hot with steamed rice and sambal for an authentic Indonesian meal.
