Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 20 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
- 5 shallots, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 lemongrass stalks, white part only, finely chopped
- 3 kaffir lime leaves, finely chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Place the beef slices in a bowl.
- In a food processor, blend the shallots, garlic, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric, coriander, cumin, salt, and sugar into a smooth paste.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the spice paste until fragrant.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned.
- Pour in the coconut milk and water, then simmer until the beef is tender and the sauce thickens.
- Thread the beef slices onto the bamboo skewers and grill over medium heat until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the grilled beef satay with the rich and flavorful sauce.
