Sate Sapi Makassar (makassar-style Beef Satay)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the chopped onion, minced garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, soy sauce, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and coat it well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Thread the marinated beef onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the beef skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  5. Serve the Sate Sapi Makassar hot with steamed rice and peanut sauce.
