Ingredients

  • 500g beef, cut into cubes
  • 20 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
  • 200g peanuts, roasted and ground
  • 4 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp tamarind paste
  • 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp palm sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Thread the beef onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  2. Grill the beef skewers on a stovetop grill or in a grill pan until cooked to your liking.
  3. In a pan, sauté the shallots, garlic, and red chilies until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground peanuts, tamarind paste, sweet soy sauce, palm sugar, and coconut milk. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  5. Season the peanut sauce with salt to taste.
  6. Serve the beef satay with the spicy peanut sauce.
