Ingredients

  • 1 block of tempeh, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the tempeh cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Thread the marinated tempeh cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the peanut butter and water to make the satay sauce.
  5. Heat a grill pan or stovetop grill over medium heat. Grill the tempeh skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely charred.
  6. Serve the grilled tempeh satay with the peanut sauce and enjoy!
