Saudi Arabian Mutabbaq With Spiced Beef Filling

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle on a floured surface.
- Place a portion of the beef filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over the filling and press the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each Mutabbaq until golden and crispy on both sides.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
