Sauerbraten Sliders (Sauerbraten-Schieber)

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast, cut into 12 slider-sized pieces
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the red wine vinegar, beef broth, onion, garlic, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Add the beef chuck roast pieces and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
  2. After marinating, remove the beef from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef pieces on all sides until browned.
  4. Pour the marinade into the skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove the beef from the skillet and shred with two forks.
  6. Assemble the sliders by placing a spoonful of shredded beef on each bun and topping with the other half of the bun.
