Sausage Stew (kazy Karta)
Sausage Stew, known as Kazy Karta in Kazakh cuisine, is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for warming up on a cold day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 4 potatoes, diced
- 4 cups (1L) beef broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the sausage over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Add the onions and carrots, and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the potatoes, beef broth, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the bay leaves before serving.
