Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, rice flour, chopped onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, black pepper, salt, and baking soda.
  2. Add a little water at a time to form a thick batter. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  4. Take a small portion of the batter and flatten it slightly on your palm. Carefully slide it into the hot oil.
  5. Fry the fritters until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the savory fritters hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
