Savory Fritters Sandwich (maddur Vada Sandwich)
Savory Fritters Sandwich, also known as Maddur Vada Sandwich, is a popular street food from Karnataka, India. This delicious sandwich is made by sandwiching crispy and spicy Maddur vada between slices of bread, along with chutney and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread
- 1 cup Maddur vada (spicy fritters)
- 4 tbsp mint chutney
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- Butter for toasting
Instructions
- Spread mint chutney on one side of each bread slice.
- Place a few slices of onion and tomato on half of the bread slices.
- Place a Maddur vada on top of the vegetables.
- Cover with the remaining bread slices to make sandwiches.
- Spread butter on the outsides of the sandwiches.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from the skillet and cut the sandwiches in half.
- Serve hot with extra chutney or ketchup.
