Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup urad dal flour
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, urad dal flour, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, asafoetida, butter, and salt.
- Add water little by little and knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Fill the murukku press with the dough and press it in a circular motion directly into the hot oil.
- Fry the murukku until it turns golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
- Let the murukku cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
