Saxon Beer-Braised Sausages (Sächsische Bierwürste)

Ingredients

  • 4 Saxon beer sausages
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bottle of German beer
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic, and sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the Saxon beer sausages to the skillet and brown on all sides.
  4. Pour in the German beer and beef broth, and season with salt and pepper.

  6. Simmer the sausages for 45 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the flavors have melded together.
  7. Remove the sausages from the skillet and serve hot, with the braising liquid spooned over the top.
