Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh scallops
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Rinse the scallops and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until the sauce thickens.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in half of the grated cheese.
