Schnitzel
Schnitzel is a classic dish that originated in Austria and is popular in many European countries. It consists of thinly pounded meat, breaded and fried to perfection.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops, thinly sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Place the pork chops between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each pork chop in the flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the breaded pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the schnitzel from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and your choice of side dishes.
