Scrambled Cottage Cheese (paneer Bhurji)

Ingredients

  • 250g cottage cheese (paneer), crumbled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
  4. Add crumbled cottage cheese (paneer) and garam masala. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or paratha.
