Scrambled Paneer (paneer Bhurji)
Scrambled Paneer, also known as Paneer Bhurji, is a popular North Indian dish made with crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and a blend of aromatic spices. It's a quick and easy recipe that can be enjoyed as a side dish or as a filling for sandwiches and wraps.
Ingredients
- 250g paneer, crumbled
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) or oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and green chilies, sauté until onions are translucent.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
- Add crumbled paneer and garam masala. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
