Ingredients

  • 4 seahorses, cleaned and gutted
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the tomato puree, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the cleaned seahorses to the pot and pour in the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the seahorses are tender.
  5. Once the seahorses are cooked, remove them from the pot and set aside.
  6. Continue to simmer the tomato sauce until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Return the seahorses to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.
