Seekh Kebab (spiced Lamb Kebabs)
Seekh Kebab is a popular Pashtun dish made with spiced minced lamb, shaped into kebabs, and grilled to perfection. These kebabs are bursting with flavor and are perfect for a delicious appetizer or main course.
Ingredients
- 500g minced lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the minced lamb, onion, green chilies, fresh coriander, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a long, cylindrical kebab around a skewer.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the kebabs in the pan and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are evenly browned and cooked through.
- Remove the kebabs from the pan and serve hot with mint chutney, naan, or rice.
