Semporna Seafood Tom Yam
Semporna Seafood Tom Yam is a popular dish in Sabahan Cuisine, known for its spicy and tangy flavors. This recipe combines the freshest seafood with aromatic herbs and spices to create a delicious and comforting soup.
Ingredients
- 500g mixed seafood (prawns, squid, fish)
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 3 lemongrass stalks, smashed
- 6 kaffir lime leaves
- 4 shallots, sliced
- 4 red chilies, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
- 200g oyster mushrooms
- 3 tbsp fish sauce
- 3 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp palm sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
- In a pot, bring the chicken stock to a boil.
- Add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, shallots, and chilies. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add seafood, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Cook for 3-4 minutes until seafood is cooked through.
- Stir in fish sauce, lime juice, and palm sugar. Simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
