Serbian-style Cevapi (Srpski Ćevapi)
Srpski Ćevapi, also known as Serbian-style Cevapi, are delicious grilled sausages made with a blend of ground meats and traditional Balkan spices. They are a popular dish in Serbian cuisine and are often served with flatbread, chopped onions, and ajvar sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and baking soda until well combined.
- Using wet hands, shape the meat mixture into small sausages, about 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- Grill the Ćevapi for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- Remove the Ćevapi from the grill and serve hot with flatbread, chopped onions, and ajvar sauce.
