Serbian-style Cevapi (Srpski Ćevapi)

Srpski Ćevapi, also known as Serbian-style Cevapi, are delicious grilled sausages made with a blend of ground meats and traditional Balkan spices. They are a popular dish in Serbian cuisine and are often served with flatbread, chopped onions, and ajvar sauce.

Serbian-style Cevapi (Srpski Ćevapi)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and baking soda until well combined.
  2. Using wet hands, shape the meat mixture into small sausages, about 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  4. Grill the Ćevapi for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  5. Remove the Ćevapi from the grill and serve hot with flatbread, chopped onions, and ajvar sauce.
