Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Toss to coat the beef evenly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
