Sesame Laddu (nuvvula Undalu)
Sesame Laddu, also known as Nuvvula Undalu in Telugu, is a traditional sweet from the Telugu Cuisine. These delicious laddus are made with sesame seeds, jaggery, and ghee, and are a popular treat during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup jaggery, grated
- 2 tbsp ghee
Instructions
- Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they turn golden brown and aromatic. Remove from heat and let them cool.
- Once the sesame seeds are cool, grind them into a coarse powder using a food processor or blender.
- In a separate pan, heat the ghee and add the grated jaggery. Cook on low heat until the jaggery melts and forms a syrup-like consistency.
- Add the ground sesame seeds to the jaggery syrup and mix well until everything is combined.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly so that it can be handled.
- Grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small laddus (round balls).
- Allow the laddus to cool completely before serving.
