Sesame Laddu (nuvvula Undalu)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup jaggery, grated
  • 2 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they turn golden brown and aromatic. Remove from heat and let them cool.
  2. Once the sesame seeds are cool, grind them into a coarse powder using a food processor or blender.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the ghee and add the grated jaggery. Cook on low heat until the jaggery melts and forms a syrup-like consistency.
  4. Add the ground sesame seeds to the jaggery syrup and mix well until everything is combined.
  5. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly so that it can be handled.
  6. Grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small laddus (round balls).
  7. Allow the laddus to cool completely before serving.
