Sesame Seed Brittle (til Gajak)
Sesame Seed Brittle, also known as Til Gajak, is a traditional sweet treat from Jharkhandi Cuisine. It is made with just a few simple ingredients and is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup jaggery (gur)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter)
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, dry roast the sesame seeds over medium heat until they turn golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, heat the ghee and add the jaggery. Cook until the jaggery melts and forms a thick syrup.
- Add the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup. Mix well to combine.
- Pour the mixture onto a greased plate and spread it evenly with a greased rolling pin.
- Let it cool and set for about 10 minutes, then cut into pieces.
