Shaanxi Rou Jia Mo, also known as Chinese hamburger, is a traditional street food from the Shaanxi province of China. It consists of a flavorful meat filling stuffed inside a crispy and chewy bun.
Ingredients
- 500g pork belly, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 Chinese flatbreads or buns
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the minced pork belly, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, five-spice powder, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Let it marinate for 20 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the marinated pork mixture. Cook until the pork is browned and cooked through.
- Warm the Chinese flatbreads or buns in a steamer or microwave.
- Stuff the cooked pork filling inside the warm flatbreads or buns.
- Serve the Shaanxi Rou Jia Mo hot and enjoy!
