Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup snow peas
- 4 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame oil for drizzling
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut into cubes.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Set aside.
- Heat some oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté garlic, ginger, and green onions until fragrant.
- Add carrots, bell pepper, snow peas, and shiitake mushrooms. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- Pour in the sauce mixture and vegetable broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the tofu to the pan and gently stir to coat with the sauce. Let it simmer for a few more minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the pan, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
