上海辣炒牛肉 (Shanghai Style Spicy Beef Stir-Fry) is a classic dish in Shanghai cuisine known for its bold flavors and tender beef slices.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2-3 green chilies, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok over high heat.
- Add the beef slices and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok and add garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Add the red bell pepper and continue stir-frying for another 2 minutes.
- Return the beef to the wok and add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
