上海辣牛肉丝 (Shanghai Style Spicy Shredded Beef) is a classic dish in Shanghai cuisine known for its bold flavors and tender beef.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2-3 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp Sichuan peppercorns
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry the beef slices for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok, then add the garlic, onion, and red chilies. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the wok, then add the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the green onions and stir-fry for an additional 1 minute. Season with salt to taste.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
