Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 red chilies, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry the beef slices for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  2. Heat the remaining oil in the wok, then add the garlic, onion, and red chilies. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Return the beef to the wok, then add the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the green onions and stir-fry for an additional 1 minute. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
