Ingredients
- 1 kg spare ribs, cut into individual pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the spare ribs with salt and pepper, then coat them in cornstarch and dip in beaten eggs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the spare ribs until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the bell peppers and onion until slightly tender.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar, rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, sesame oil, and water to make the sweet and sour sauce.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet with the vegetables and bring to a simmer.
- Add the fried spare ribs to the skillet and toss to coat with the sweet and sour sauce.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the spare ribs are fully coated and heated through.
