Ingredients
- 4 chicken legs
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 slices of ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 star anise
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chicken legs and brown them on all sides.
- Add the ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry for a minute.
- Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir to coat the chicken.
- Add the chicken broth and star anise. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and place it on a serving dish.
- Turn the heat to high and reduce the sauce until it thickens. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
