Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs pork ribs
  • 1 lb taro, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, blanch the pork ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat some oil in the pot, then add the ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the blanched pork ribs, taro chunks, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and salt. Stir to coat the ingredients with the sauce.
  4. Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour or until the pork ribs are tender.
  5. Once done, remove the lid and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice.
