Sharbat (rosewater-infused Pomegranate Drink)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons rosewater
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved to create a simple syrup. This should take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the pomegranate juice, rosewater, and the prepared simple syrup. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
  3. Refrigerate the sharbat for at least 1 hour to chill.
  4. Before serving, add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir to chill the sharbat further.
  5. Pour the sharbat into glasses, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and serve cold.
