Sharbat (wau Watermelon Lemonade)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups diced watermelon
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree the diced watermelon until smooth.
  2. Strain the watermelon puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the pulp.
  3. Add fresh lemon juice and honey (or sugar) to the pitcher and stir until the sweetener is dissolved.
  4. Stir in cold water until well combined.
  5. Refrigerate the sharbat until chilled, or serve over ice immediately.
  6. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves before serving.
