Ingredients

  • 1 lb shark fillets
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup tamarind sauce
  • 1/4 cup hot pepper sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and knead the dough until smooth. Divide into 4 portions and flatten into rounds.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shark fillets until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. While the shark is frying, deep-fry the dough rounds until puffed and golden, about 2 minutes per side.
  4. Assemble the shark and bake by placing a fried shark fillet on a bake, then topping with shredded cabbage, sliced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Drizzle with tamarind sauce and hot pepper sauce.
